Bikanervala is preparing for a major expansion into the UK, in collaboration with The Montana Group, a prominent player in the retail and hospitality sectors, the Indian snack and restaurant chain announced on Friday. This comes shortly after the brand’s latest outlet opening in Sri Ganganagar, marking a return to its roots in Rajasthan.
The Sri Ganganagar location not only strengthens Bikanervala’s foothold in North India but also underscores its aspiration to showcase India’s rich culinary heritage to a global audience.
The new outlet follows a quick-service restaurant (QSR) model, offering a variety of traditional Indian sweets, snacks, and multi-cuisine dishes in a modern setting.
“We aim to make Indian flavours a global staple, fusing tradition with innovation through our ‘Reverse Food Drainage’ initiative,” said Manoj Madhukar, Founder of The Montana Group.
He added, “Through strategic collaborations and exploring untapped markets, we hope to harness the growing global fascination with Indian cuisine as a means of cultural exchange.”
Monty Singh, co-founder of The Montana Group, highlighted the company’s vision: “We want to engage global youth in an exciting culinary journey that honours India’s time-honoured traditions. Just as brands like McDonald’s and KFC have tailored their offerings to Indian tastes, our goal is to bring authentic Indian flavours to the world.”
The Montana Group plans to open over 25 new outlets between 2025 and 2026, expanding its presence both in India and abroad, particularly in the northern regions.
Founded in 1905, Bikanervala has been a household name in India, known for its diverse range of authentic Indian foods.
